Helping Villages residents get the most out of their technology

Hi — I'm Joe Soldner, your neighbor in the Village of Amelia and the person behind The Villages Nerd.
I've spent more than 40 years in corporate technology — and that's still where most of my weekdays go. My job has always been about making complex systems reliable and understandable for real people. I moved to The Villages in 2016, and it didn't take long before neighbors started asking me about their phones, their printers, their Wi-Fi, their new TV that "doesn't work right." I was happy to help. That's when I realized I should probably write some of this down.
Whether you're on a Windows PC, a MacBook, or an iPhone — or you've got a smart home setup you're not entirely sure how to run, or you're curious about electric vehicles and what "Full Self-Driving" actually means on something like a Tesla — I've probably dealt with the same thing at my house. And then there's AI. Everyone's heard of ChatGPT by now. Some people are curious, some are confused, and some are genuinely worried. I want to help demystify what artificial intelligence actually is, how it already shows up in your daily life, and what's worth paying attention to — in plain English, no jargon required.
I'm not here to sell you anything. I'm here because a community where people share what they know is the whole point of living in The Villages.
